Alexis Avila, Founder/CEO of Prepped and Polished covers the structure of the SSAT and also helps you determine which level to take.

Today we are going to talk about the structure of the SSAT exam and determine which level is for you.

The SSAT is a standardized test for students who wish to enter into independent schools across the US. The SSAT is broken into three different levels depending on the grade level of the student as well as the grade that they’re wishing to enter.

So, if you have a student who is in 3rd or 4th grade and looking to apply to 4th or 5th grade, they are going to take the elementary level of the SSAT. On the other hand, if you have a student who is in 5th, 6th, or 7th grade and looking to apply to 6th, 7th, or 8th grade, they are going to take the middle level of the SSAT. Moreover, if you have a student who is in 8th, 9th, 10th, or 11th grade and looking to apply to 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade, they are going to take the upper level of the SSAT.
