Alexis Avila gives you an SAT crash course in episode #189 of the Prepped and Polished Podcast. These SAT tips and strategies are designed for use when your test several weeks away.

SAT Crash course

Let’s assume the SAT is about a month away, maybe even a week away. You don’t have a lot of time to prep. So, here’s a crash course:

Buy yourself a copy of the College Board’s official SAT study guide and take practice tests. Familiarize yourself with the test, format, and the caliber of questions in all sections. This will help you gain confidence when you walk in on the test. Another thing I want you to do is memorize the SAT format. Section one is always going to be the essay. Section two will always be the short grammar writing section and everything in between. Another thing you should do is work on math strategies, especially back-solving, and plug in to get more questions right unless you have time to study math content. Finally, I want you to start getting up bright and early on Saturday mornings leading up to the test and also to study SAT material on those Saturday mornings to get your brain used to it.
