Three ACT Insider Tips you should know before you take the exam

Alexis Avila Founder/President of Prepped & Polished discusses three ACT insider tips.

Tip 1. The English ACT section is identical to the SAT paragraph improvements in the writing section.
Tip 2. The ACT math trig is easy, and the ACT math is easier than SAT math.
Tip 3. The ACT science section is not that bad. Pace yourself to do each science passage in roughly five minutes.

Today, I have three ACT insider tips for you. Let’s start

Tip number one

On the ACT English section, the ACT English section is basically a super-sized version of the paragraph improvements found in the writing section of the SAT. So, the key to the English section is really about pacing. Okay, you’re going to have five sets of 15 questions you want to do each set in nine minutes, and you’ll be fine.

Tip number two

The trigonometry on the ACT math section is really not hard trigonometry; it’s easy trigonometry. Learn some of the easy trip concepts like sohcahtoa, and you should be fine. In fact, overall, the ACT math section is easier and more straightforward than the SAT.

Tip number three

I had a student yesterday come up to me and say Alexis, the science section of the ACT it’s really not that bad. It’s mostly about reading graphs. Well, she’s absolutely right. It is about reading graphs and analyzing trends increasing, decreasing etc. What you really want to do in the science section is pace yourself wisely, okay, five minutes roughly / passage, and you should get through the whole sign-in section with no problem.

This is Alexis, and I’ll talk to you soon.
