5 Tips for 12th Grade Success

Senior year of high school is a really exciting time for seniors. But you don’t want to get carried away in the social scene and take that you know you’re all set and will get into a college. You still have work to do and you know there will be some steps you’ll have to take to do well and graduate successfully.

1. Continue to work hard and show leadership

Get good grades and show leadership senior year because colleges do look at senior year grades. So have momentum going into college.

2. Take a final SAT or ACT if needed

Take some standardized tests during the fall of senior year if you’re not satisfied with your essay.

3. Get your college application essay out of the way early

Try to get your college application essay out of the way by the end of August, preferably about September, because if you leave that essay around, you’re going to be stressed out.

4. Submit your college applications early

Try to submit your college applications about a month before the deadlines because you know the early bird gets the worm.

5. Visit your guidance counselor often

Make sure to pay frequent weekly visits to your guidance counselor to get some really good advice about your school selections.
